The goals of Union of Iranian Societies of Mathematical Sciences are as follows:
- Creating a synchronize coordination among member societies.
- Helping the associations to communicate with the universities, educational researching and executive institutions of the country, national and international assemblies and other governmental and non-governmental sectors.
- Encouraging and supporting scientific studies, giving proper targets for future researches and other scientific activities of member societies.
- Helping all member societies to recognize their true position and strengthen them.
- Creating the necessary grounds for active participation in specialized assemblies to influence the legislative and executive process of the country.
- Protecting the rights of member societies and associations.
- Helping to advance and attain the goals of commissions related to the Iranian scientific societies .
To achieve these aforementioned aims , the Union of Iranian Societies of Mathematical Sciences has the following tasks:
- Helping to establish communication between member societies and obtaining information about the latest scientific, technical, cultural and economic achievements in the world and publishing and distribute these informations and experiences between member societies in order to develop their activities.
- Helping to establish and facilitate the relationship of scientific associations with educational, research, industrial, legislative and executive centers of the country.
- Cooperating to audit the development of science, collecting and reviewing the proposals of member societies to assist policy-making in the fields of science, research and technology development.
- Preparing, compiling, consulting and supervising plans, regulations and scientific, research and technical standards.
- Encouraging members and their participants in the field of studies and research by awarding prizes, badges and scholarships and short-term or long-term training courses.
- Creating facilities for memorial, honoring and awarding prizes on special occasions, especially to science and technology veterans and young researchers.
- Eliminating obstacles and problems of member societies and the necessary cooperation and coordination with the Commission of Scientific Associations.
- Providing advice to members and providing necessary cooperation in scientific arbitrations.
- Trying to raise the status of member societies.
- Establishing healthy competition between members.
- Forming the necessary scientific and executive working groups and committees.
- Printing and publishing magazines and books and creating virtual systems.
- Assisting in the implementation of various scientific evaluations and activities of member societies.
- Cooperating with scientific institutions and organizations to advance mathematical sciences.
- Membership in international scientific societies.
